Affectionately known around the shop and at the strip as "Captain America", this car came to us with the SLP Cold Air Intake and Loudmouth exhaust already installed - but we took things from there.
We swapped the mileage-friendly but grandmotherly 2.73:1 rear axle for a peppier 3.42:1, an unusual combination not available stock on the automatic models. To provide additional grip on the backroads we mounted chrome 18x9.5" Z06 style rims with ultra low-profile tires. For smoother burnouts, since this car sees weekend track duty with drag radials, we've installed the new SLP Line-Lock Brake Solenoid.
We don't limit ourselves to subtle and tasteful graphic treatments such as the ghost-striped Formula seen earlier in this section. This owner spec'd the retro-70's custom graphics in reflective police-style material to be reminscent of the Evel Knievel era, and we're more than happy to go over the top. Flash photography can't do justice to the neon effect the stripes have looming out against the darkness when illuminated by oncoming headlights.
We are currently removing the dealer applied pinstripe (yechh), and factory applied orange peel in the finish to make this car a winner at the shows as well as the track.
