1965 Pontiac GTO Restomod 467CID 5 speed Print E-mail
This GTO comes to us from California. Originally Mission Beige, white interior with console and power windows. We are going to be changing basically everything and upgrading every aspect of it plus a color change inside and out. Plans include a 467 CID stroker, Vintage Air, Tremec 5 speed transmission, Global West front suspension, Hotchkis rear suspension, FE2 steering box, 13" Baer 4 wheel disc brakes, stainless steel lines, Flaming River GM tilt column and 17" wheels just to start! We may even sell it when we are done! Make us an offer!
Our black plate California Pontiac arrives and we are going to disassemble it.
Underneath, we find drum brakes and a pretty dry underside.
Here is the underside of the motor.
  A little further back underneath
A little further back it still looks great underneath
All the way back and still no rust.
The stock 10 bolt is removed and disassembled. We will be installing an Eaton posi unit and 3.55 gears
The entire front suspension has been removed
The underside once everything has been removed
The frame has been 3 stage powdercoated and now we are assembling it.
The Global West control arms and Hotchkis stabilizer bar links have been installed. Look at the metallic in the frame!
Now the Hotchkis stabilizer bar has been installed along with the steering linkage and Bilstein shocks.
Upon removing the windshield, we found some rust issues with our black plate California car
Here is the upper portion of where the windshield mounts. We will have to fabricate new metal.
2006 GTO rear seats are being fitted to fit just right into the back.
The 467 CID stroker is ready!
The right door has been metal filed and required very little body work.
Interior and trunk area was treated to a liberal dose of Lizard Skin heat and sound barrier
The right quarter has had all the prior damages worked out the old fashioned way and is now straight.
Now that the body filler has been removed from the left quarter, metal work begins
After all the body work has been done, it is now in prime.
Epoxy primed and edged in Nightwatch Blue with blue pearl added
Inside of the front fenders. Nice!
