Page 1 of 13 This old goat came in to lose weight and increase its muscle.
Here comes the 67 GTO. Our customer has owned it for the past 8 years. He thought he had a solid car. It looks great, right? | When the paint came off we found literally gallons of bondo in the left rear quarter from a prior accident and rust. | |
Now for the other side. It was also loaded with excessive filler. However, this quarter had been spliced together two different times. To make matters worse, it was brazed, not welded. | | We added a complete Baer four-wheel disc brake system.
Plus a 12-bolt Moser rear axle with 3.73:1 gear set; and a Global West suspension, with adjustable rears. | We installed the "All Pontiac" 511 CID monster with Edelbrock heads. This monster generates over 700 lb.ft. of torque and 608 horsepower at the flywheel. Backed up by an extremely well built 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission to keep the RPM's low. A serpentine pulley system was installed along with a Vintage A/C system plumbed with custom bent stainless steel lines for the a/c and heat.
