1967 Camaro RS Print E-mail
Asleep in his mother's garage since 1990, the RS is finally awakened..
Our newest arrival: The customer left it at Mom's house in 1990. Mom now has decided to sell the house, so out comes the Camaro. The son lives in Colorado and has always wanted the car he has owned since he was 18 to be done, so here it is.
The interior is quite dirty but you would be also if you hadn't been bathed in 15 years. Nicely optioned with custom interior, RS package, A/C, 327 V8, power steering, power brakes, power windows, rallye wheels and automatic transmission.
Other then cracked paint and a lot of long term storage residue, the initial inspection doesn't look too bad. Almost a true barn find.
The 327 is being gone through to prepare it for startup after it's long sleep so we can properly evaluate it. The transmission fluid was dry, the radiator was dry and the fuel tank was empty.
  Front suspension was completely disassembled
  Underside of floor
Another view of the floor underside
Rear axle revealed an open differential. We converted it to a posi Eaton differential
Rear axle housing had a combination of grime, road debris and sitting rust that was very thick
Subframe required a lot of cleanup also
Rear axle housing cleaned, stripped, primed and painted.
Stainless steel lines installed onto axle
Control arms and subframe blasted, cleaned, primed and painted. Assembly of the suspension begins along with a front disc brake conversion.
Disc brakes and caliper along with an assembled suspension appear.
