After some troubleshooting, we have found the culprit. An outside view of this magnificent car In the fuse block, there is a resistor that controls the amount of voltage that goes to the gauges. This is the location of the culprit This is what the culprit looks like. Its always the small stuff that creates the biggest headaches. After replacement we started having intermittent failures of the gauges. The problem was traced down to the slide on connectors to the back of the gauges.
