June 17, 2006. We started February 15, 2006. 4 months to do the massive amount of work we encountered is impressive. Father and son picking up their project on June 17, 2006. Our customer has to do some minor items and a calibration of the Great Race speedometer and then he'll be off to Philadelphia to start the race on June 24, 2006. Updates can be followed on Greatrace.com and watch for the airing of it on Speed channel sometime in the near future.    Well, after running 4400 miles in the Great Race, we have some minor issues to take care of. We did not get a chance to debug the car since we were on such a tight timetable but now will address the issues. It did finish the Great Race and did not suffer a single debilitating failure! This is the brake drum that has hot spots all throughout. We will be replacing it.    Steering wheel has been removed to investigate horn issues    Horn contact plate has some carbon buildup on it.    Rear axle bearings failed due to the previous shop not knowing that the bearings required shims. Here we are fabricating different thicknesses of shims out of shim stock.    Shims as they make their way to being finalized.                     << Prev - Next
